Dr. Charlene Forsyth graduated with her Doctor of Psychology degree from the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis, MN in 2004. She is passionate about the dissemination of appropriate treatment for anxiety disorders. Although approximately 40 million American adults suffer from an anxiety disorder, less than 1/3 receive any form of treatment. Since the beginning of her graduate work in 1995, Master of Arts in Psychology and Doctorate of Psychology, Dr. Forsyth focused on obtaining specialized training and experiences in the area of understanding and treating anxiety disorders. She believes the problem of misdiagnosis and under treatment of anxiety disorders contributes to tremendous personal and unnecessary suffering for millions of Americans. Considering anxiety disorders are one of our most effectively treated problems, Dr. Forsyth has made it her career mission to provide state of the art, effective, research based treatment.
Dr. Forsyth is willing to collaborate with your medical doctor or psychiatrist and believes coordination of treatment is the most effective approach. This may include a referral for or maintenance of medication treatment if assessed as appropriate. Comfort and respect working with medical professionals also stems from her prior profession as a Critical Care Registered Nurse.
